The Story So Far...
The Heart of Africa Mission has had an overwhelming amount of support from hundreds of individuals and churches. To date, that support has been in the form of sponsorship for building projects and start-up costs for income generating businesses. Kind individuals and churches have paid for the construction of vital buildings for the farm and college and have supplied chickens, fish, fruit trees and vegetables that have been used to create training opportunities for students as well as providing income for the college and much needed food for those who attend.
Praise God for the amazing contributions received so far!
The Next Phase...
This is a very exciting time for Heart of Africa Mission and Christian Training College. In the next year or so, it is our prayer that HAM will come much closer to being almost completely self sufficient - generating enough income from its own businesses to support itself. Praise God!
Your support of existing projects is still needed but our hopes for the future are that this will release us to focus our energy on two other much needed fundraising projects:
1. Post Graduate Pioneering Fund
This is a micro credit loan program facilitated by the faculty of CTC for graduates of the Bible college. Our vision is to train and equip ministers of the gospel not just with spiritual and theological tools, but with an education that helps them support themselves as they carry out the work of the Kingdom. Training programs are already in place at the college to equip students with various business and income-generating skills. This is half of the battle. Without capital to launch a business, these skills may lie dormant and trained pastors, missionaries and evangelists may be forced into full time secular work to support their families. With the help of a micro-credit loan, or micro-credit grant, a pastor can attain the capital needed to start his own business and when the business -providing him with the means to support his family and his ministry. Your giving can facilitate these micro-credit schemes and equip a pioneer to follow God's call on their life.
Here is a testimony from Pastor Joseph, who was a recipient of the Post Graduate Pioneering Fund:
Pastor Joseph completed his dipoloma with CTC in 2005. He then received a K2,150,000 loan/grant (about $340 CAD). He is a church planter. This is Pastor Joseph's account:
I have built a poultry house and started up a small business of keeping chickens.
My profit comes every after six [6] weeks with the amount of ZMK 200,000 [about $60 CAD]
Mainly my money is used as follows:
-for my up keep as I am serving in a newly planted church in Kalulushi, Zambia
-some times contributing towards student fees at HAM/CTC
-Occasionally I help the vulnerable children in the church and the community
ABOUT THE CHURCH
The church is doing fine it is now with five [5] months old, with a minimum number of 35 members, among who 11 were recently .baptized and 8 children were dedicated
OUR REQUEST
We wish to ask you to continue supporting our mission school and our church particularly.
I am pleased to inform you that your contributions are used according to the intended purposes
Your help to us will go a long way.
THANKS.........../;
GOD BE WITH YOU ALL
Joseph
Your donation really does make a difference in many lives!
2. Dollar for Dollar Matching Scholarship Fund
It is our desire to create a scholarship fund for needy students who would not otherwise be able to partake in the opportunities at Heart of Africa Mission Christian Training College. Some potential students come from backgrounds of abject poverty and the K600 000 (approx. $200 CAN) needed every term is just beyond their reach. We would like to offer the opportunity for such students to receive support so that they can receive the necessary training, start their own income-generating business and become self-sufficient ministers of the Gospel. For every dollar that such students are able to raise themselves, the scholarship fund would provide a matching dollar towards their fees.
